Mini Choppers

All You Need To Know About Chopper Mini Bikes

As known in the biker community, the 'Chopper' is the main choice of motorcycle when it comes to riding in style. These bikes are customized down to every last bolt and nut and are a popular choice for design artists to show off their painting skills.

Mini Choppers

Over the years, due to their large size, there has been an increased demand for smaller versions of this sought after mechanical wonder. The mini choppers of today area available in two separate sizes. There is the larger 'mini chopper' and the 'pocket chopper' which is noticeably smaller than its big brother. The larger chopper mini bikes are very similar in style to the large Harley style motorcycles. The body is usually constructed of 1” steel tubing but some use as small as 3/4” for a lighter bike. The manufacturer then bends the pipe in the shape it is designing and welds them together to form the desired outcome.

Since the market of mini chopper bikes is based off of customization, a large percentage of mini choppers are custom made fit to the consumers order. The majority of custom mini choppers are produced with a variety of engine sizes ranging from smaller, less powerful power bases to quite the opposite. ATV and dirt bike engines have also been used in certain models as they provide sufficient power to the average rider. Customization is often made to the gear ratios, which controls how long or short each gear in the transmission is. This allows custom mini chopper riders to change the acceleration and top speed settings to their liking. A jackshaft, which is a common mechanical solution to achieve such results was made famous during the industrial revolution.

Pocket Chopper Mini Bikes

An even smaller version of the mini chopper is the, pocket chopper. These mechanical wonders are often no taller than a few feet and fit no more than one person. Many kids prefer these as they are easier to ride and maintain. They come in an electric version, which requires only a charge for up to a day full of exciting pocket chopper fun. The less eco-friendly version runs off of gasoline and oil and has a bit more power to the wheels.

When Riding A Mini Chopper

It is extremely important to wear a helmet while riding on either version of the pocket chopper as it is can be extremely painful to lose control on pavement. If you are thinking about purchasing a pocket chopper it is recommended to visit your local motorcycle shop as they usually have local shops who produce such machines. Those who claim to be masters of the tool box can possibly save money and build their own with the right equipment.

Before building your pocket chopper bike many suggest to follow directions exactly as your life could rely on the work you put into the job. Whether you are purchasing or building your own custom mini chopper you are sure to enjoy yourself on these modern pocket bikes. The best thing about them is a child or adult can own one customized to their wants.
